What drives you? I’m driven by my life-long passion to make a difference in my work when it comes to the environment. But I’m also driven by the extensive possibilities of the human mind and behavior in addressing climate change and exploring the nuances of sustainability in achieving a system change rather than just a balancing act of the 3P’s. From dreaming of becoming an environmentalist at the age of eight to now accepting that it is my responsibility to actively contribute to climate action and ensuring my footprints only leave a positive impact behind.
What projects do you work on that you love or are most passionate about and why? I enjoy working on projects surrounding sustainability, climate change solutions, or ones that addresses the environmental impact. From designing more sustainable packaging to formulating strategies and policies in addressing the UN Sustainability goals to being a part of flood recovery program NSW. I am passionate about such projects because it pushes me out of my comfort zone to confront the complexities of our relationship with the environment. It is easy to immerse oneself in such kind of work as they are steered by impact and the difference you make is resonated across areas of society and the environment no matter how small.
Career highlight/game changing project/something that made a big impact: Being a part of an entrepreneurial program that led to a business development based in Tasmania. A social venture that embraces a circular business structure for clothing and textile with a goal of not only having a fair share of positive environmental impact but also steering the path towards a more sustainable society. This inspired me to be where I am today, at the intersection between people, planet and profit.
