What drives you? I’m purpose driven, and passionate about working for a climate resilient future and net-zero energy transition. I believe we, the current custodians of our planet, are obligated to the future custodians of our planet, our children, and our children’s children; to do our absolute best to mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change, and to pave the way for a sustainable future. We must act quickly and decisively; I’m committed to my role on the climate resiliency and decarbonisation mission.
What projects do you work on that you love or are most passionate about and why? I find mega-energy projects super interesting and love working on new technology applications as they become more feasible domestically, particularly marine energy projects such as offshore wind, floating solar, and tidal energy. I also love being at the cutting edge of hard to abate sectors, like resources, maritime and aviation, contributing to emission reduction outcomes that amass enormous impact. And, as a passionate marine scientist, I’ll always have a soft spot for nature-based solutions projects, particularly marine related projects, including the role of coral reef in carbon sequestrian, coastal management and biodiversity conservation.
Career highlight/game changing project/something that made a big impact: I’m incredibly proud to have facilitated the domestic market entry, supply chain and port planning aspects for a global north, tier 1 offshore wind proponent. Acknowledging the scale of impact the proponent’s projects could ultimately deliver for Australia’s renewable energy landscape, emissions reductions, and climate resiliency was equally extraordinary and humbling.
